Biographical Notes:
Burt did not start his acting career
until he was in his thirties.
Burt Lancaster starred in almost 100
movies. He starred with Dean Martin in 1970's "Airport."
Burt won the Oscar for Best Actor
in 1961 for "Elmer Gantry," and in 1980 he was nominated for his performance in
"Atlantic City."
He set up his own production
company in 1948 with Harold Hecht and James Hill to direct his career.
His production company,
Hecht-Hill-Lancaster produced the such films as Paddy Chayefsky's Marty (Oscar
winner 1955) and The Catered Affair (1956).
