Biographical Notes:

She was an actress and a sex icon in the 50's and 60's.

She started out winning small beauty pageants and ended up attending UCLA. While she studied acting there, she began to take small television parts.

A part in the Broadway production of "Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?" led to a repeat role in the film version.

She was always thought of as a sex kitten or a dumb blonde. She was the poor man's Marilyn Monroe, but without the qualities the Monroe had.

She was the mother of actress Mariska Hargitay, who played a hooker at the bar in '95's Leaving Las Vegas.

She tried to be seen as a serious actress, but never really accomplished that.

While she was traveling to a nightclub gig, she was killed in a highway accident, but not decapitated.
